New year, new friends ...

Hi everyone! School reopened on the first of April after 2 weeks of fun-filled holidays. Now it’s back to school. My classmates and I are now officially in 9 th grade! Both the ninth grade girl’s sections have been combined to form one section, 9B. So in the morning, when I reached class, I found everyone sitting separately; former 9D (my classmates) in a row, the other girls in another row. So our now-class teacher, Namrata Ma’am said that she will have to shuffle us in order to make us ‘mingle’. Namrata ma’am is pretty and fun, and she taught us social studies last year, so we already know her well. We did not receive our books on the first day. The day of receiving books is always torture.   It involves carrying a set of heavy books in your bag, and another 2 books in your hands(for the fear that the school bag will tear open), and walking down 2 floors of stairs to the ground floor, and trying to find your bus in the sizzling heat. After that, at home Moms are

Another busy weekend

“Next, we will go to NEXT ”  Mom said, grinning. My father and I chuckled. We were having a long day of all types of shopping. Dress and grocery shopping took a lot of time always. My FA-1 had finally finished and after 7 days of exams, I was ready to sit back and enjoy the weekend. But my Mom had other plans. We had to complete a load of shopping which we did over the 2 days. So when I went to school on Sunday, my eyelids were feeling heavy and I was ready to use the table as a bed and my bag as a pillow. Nobody seemed well in my class. Rabia and Sauda had headaches, some people had cold, and others were ready to go to sleep. I was suffering from all the above. There had been a sandstorm on both days of weekend, and we all had been victims.  So, last week and this week had and will be a total drag, according to my calculations. To make things worse, a rumor had been spreading that the FA-2 exams would be starting early. I was like “Just great!” Sunday is not exact

6th grade and busy days

Many of Mom’s friends are coming back from India. She is really excited. And when Mom’s friends are around, they keep talking and laughing nonstop really loudly. But since me and my friends are playing, we don’t actually hear them. So that means I am excited too. Like Ammu chechi came back from India and we all spend time together.  So, we had a good time. Ammu chechi went back to India yesterday. But Ammu chechi’s parents and young sister, Devika are in Riyadh. So I can play with Devika. Like I said, Mom and Dad are really excited. I know Dad is happy too, though he doesn’t show it. Maybe his heart is full of joy and jumping around right now because now we are going to Ammu chechi’s home. Some new children have joined our class. They are Ann, Dhaniya, Avantika and Siddhika. Avanthika is now with chickenpox and so she hasn’t come to school for a few days. Mother Nature was angry for a few days, because there were huge sandstorms last week. And my mom suffered. One day mom
