Oh Zeus!

When I got out of the car, the wind had become stronger. It tugged at my shawl, but I held on to it. Now we can say winter has officially started, for the temperature has dropped. After reading Percy Jackson books (again), I was ready to blame the Greek god Zeus , lord of the skies. We did not have to wear our uniform tomorrow, instead, we could wear color dress, and the teachers said we did not have to bring any books. It would be really fun. But the sky is now all moody and grumpy and it is making me all grumpy too. There is lightning, thunder and rain. Mom says that maybe I may not be able to go to school tomorrow. Great. Just great. There are only a few days when we look forward on going to school and tomorrow is going to be one of those days. And then BOOM! Now we can’t. I wonder how many classmates of mine are coming to school tomorrow.   Have mercy on us, Zeus.

Happy 2013

“God, how fast the year went!” Mom was saying yesterday. She gave a glance at the calendar. “Today is the last day of 2012’’. She reminded me “Soon, you will be in 7 th grade.” Happy New Year! I would like to have a flashback of the events that happened in 2012. We went to India twice We had our flat’s housewarming Me and my cousins had a lot of fun I attended 2 marriages (uncle Prasanth ’s and Gouri’s marriage) Altogether, it was a great year. It was Kunjunni’s birthday on Saturday and I wanted to send him an email, but as soon as I opened my Inbox, a box popped up and Kunjunni had typed ‘Hi!’ So we began to chat. Eeshta, my former classmate who is now living in China, called me yesterday and wished me a Happy New Year.   My winter vacations are about to end and I have to go back to school next Saturday. I still have some projects to complete so I am going to be a little busy now.

Winterrrrrrrrrr!

It is now winter here and I would love to be warm as toast. Because of the winter we have kept a blanket on the sofa in the living room as every morning when I have to go to school I feel cold and I eat my cereal in front of TV. And that‘s not all……. When we go out to play all of us will have our hands tucked into our armpits and our caps on. That is really a nuisance. But who could blame us? We almost expected smoke to come out of our mouth. Anyway, on Wednesday we had a Biriyani party in our compound. Coming into my compound might be like coming into a world with all kinds of parties. That is why all my classmates are jealous and I am happy. When I told them about the water balloon fight we compound kids had all my classmates had sighed and said “Lucky you!”, I was on top of the world. There was a fire pit in the middle of the chairs so we all kept our hands above it, but Afra, Ayesha’s younger sister who started school some months ago ran around it and we had to chase her away.
